Dr. Khalid Miah is a lifelong learner and educator. He received B.S. in Aerospace Engineering, M.S., and Ph.D. in Electrical & Computer Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin (USA). He has fourteen plus years of post-PhD work experience in academia (teaching and research) in the U.S., and Canada. He worked as a professor at four different U.S. universities including Montana Technological University, Purdue University – Indianapolis branch, Mississippi State University, and Fort Lewis College. In addition, he held postdoctoral research positions in University of Alberta (Canada) and Natural Resources of Canada (Canada). In recent years, he has been working in various academic leadership positions with private universities in Uzbekistan. Dr. Miah is passionate about promoting higher education, research, and entrepreneurship in IT, IoT, Electronics, Robotics, and AI/ML topics.
Dr. Miah has years of industry work experience, including two years as a new product engineer with the world largest semiconductor equipment manufacturer (Applied Materials, Inc. USA), and multiple graduate research internships with companies in the U.S. He launched two startup companies in engineering and edtech technologies. One of the recent start-ups is a Resident of the IT Park, Uzbekistan.
