Purpose and Mission:
The Coordination Unit for Policy and Integrity (CPI) at AUT serves as the central facilitator, coordinator, initiator, and harmonizer of people-centered policies across the university, while each academic and administrative unit retains the responsibility for developing its own policies. Inspired by best practices from Arizona State University (ASU) and tailored to the Uzbek context, CPI’s role is to guide and support units in creating policies that promote fairness, transparency, and integrity. Working collaboratively with the AUT Office of People and Culture, as well as the Office of Quality Assurance, Pedagogical Innovations, and Licensing, CPI aims to foster a cohesive and harmonized policy environment that aligns with AUT’s mission and values.
Vision:
To establish AUT as a model of people-centered governance by facilitating and coordinating the creation of policies that foster a supportive, equitable, and transparent environment aligned with global best practices and designed to serve students, faculty, and staff.
Objectives:
1. Initiate and Coordinate Policy Development: Act as a catalyst and guide for academic and administrative units in their responsibility to create people-centered policies that meet AUT’s standards for clarity, accessibility, and consistency.
2. Adapt Global Best Practices for Local Implementation: Facilitate the adaptation of ASU-inspired policies to fit AUT’s academic, cultural, and regulatory context within Uzbekistan.
3. Promote Integrity and Accountability Across Units: Encourage a culture of integrity, transparency, and accountability by coordinating policy initiatives that align with AUT’s values.
4. Resource Provision and Handbook Management: Develop and manage comprehensive handbooks for students, faculty, and staff, consolidating policies for easy reference and accessibility.
5.Collaborative Policy Integration: Work closely with the AUT Office of People and Culture, Office for Admission and Registration, and Office of Quality Assurance, Pedagogical Innovations, and Licensing to ensure aligned and effective policies that support AUT’s goals.
Programs and Activities:
1. Policy Development Framework: Provide a standardized framework and resources to guide academic and administrative units in developing policies that align with AUT’s people-centered mission.
2. Integrity and Policy Awareness Initiatives: Lead awareness campaigns that inform students, faculty, and staff about core policies, emphasizing integrity, accountability, and community support.
3. People-Centered Training and Workshops: Facilitate training sessions for faculty and staff on best practices for policy application, developed in partnership with the Office of People and Culture and the Office of Quality Assurance, Pedagogical Innovations, and Licensing.
4. Annual Policy Coordination and Feedback Process: Conduct an annual review cycle, gathering and incorporating feedback to ensure policies remain effective, relevant, and people-centered.
5. Grievance and Appeals System Oversight: Maintain a coordinated grievance and appeals system to ensure a fair and transparent approach to policy-related concerns across the university.
Structure:
The Coordination Unit for Policy and Integrity (CPI) reports to the Rector’s Office and collaborates closely with academic and administrative departments, including the AUT Office of People and Culture, the AUT Office for Admission and Registration, and the Office of Quality Assurance, Pedagogical Innovations, and Licensing. Together, they ensure policies are cohesive, people-centered, and supportive across the university, particularly in areas impacting admissions, enrollment, and registration processes.

Overview:
The Coordinator of the Coordination Unit for Policy and Integrity (CPI) leads AUT’s efforts in policy facilitation, coordination, and people-centered governance. Each unit retains responsibility for developing its own policies, and CPI supports this by providing resources, guidance, and oversight to ensure alignment with AUT’s standards. This role requires close collaboration with the AUT Office of People and Culture, Office for Admission and Registration, and Office of Quality Assurance, Pedagogical Innovations, and Licensing, to support the integration and effectiveness of people-centered policies.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Policy Facilitation and Support:
- Provide guidance and resources for academic and administrative units in creating and implementing people-centered policies that are fair, transparent, and supportive.
- Facilitate the adaptation of ASU-inspired best practices to suit AUT’s unique context in Uzbekistan.
2. Governance and Compliance Coordination:
- Oversee compliance with local and international standards, acting as the primary contact for policy-related guidance.
- Coordinate regular policy reviews and audits, supporting units in aligning with AUT’s mission and regulatory requirements.
3. Promotion of People-Centered Integrity:
- Lead initiatives that foster integrity and accountability across units, aligning policies with AUT’s values and the needs of faculty, staff, and students.
- Collaborate with student affairs, the Office of People and Culture, and other units to address policy concerns fairly and effectively.
4. Training and Development Support:
- Organize training resources for faculty and staff, focusing on people-centered policy application and engagement, developed in partnership with the Office of People and Culture and the Office of Quality Assurance, Pedagogical Innovations, and Licensing.
- Host workshops that reinforce AUT’s policy standards and foster a community-oriented understanding of policy practices.
5. Handbook Oversight and Communication:
- Oversee the development and updates of student, faculty, and staff handbooks, ensuring accessibility and alignment with AUT’s standards.
- Collaborate with the Office of People and Culture, Office for Admission and Registration, and Office of Quality Assurance, Pedagogical Innovations, and Licensing to ensure that policies in their respective areas support the well-being and success of the AUT community.
6. Continuous Improvement and Reporting:
- Conduct regular assessments and revisions of policies, incorporating feedback from AUT community members to keep policies effective and people-centered.
- Report quarterly to the Rector, summarizing policy developments, compliance updates, and areas for enhancement.
7. Grievance and Appeals Coordination:
- Oversee the coordination of a fair and transparent grievance and appeals process, supporting units in resolving policy-related concerns.
- Work with the Office of People and Culture and the Office of Quality Assurance, Pedagogical Innovations, and Licensing to track and address common grievances, identifying trends for future policy improvements.
