A master’s degree is an advanced academic qualification earned after a bachelor’s degree. At AUT the master’s programs last two years and are structured to deepen expertise in business, technology or education. Most programs follow a 1+1 model, where students spend the first year at AUT and the second year at Arizona State University (ASU), graduating with two master’s degrees: one from AUT and one from ASU. AUT schedules master’s classes in the evenings so that working professionals can attend.
AUT offers seven master’s programs:
Business School: MBA, Global Management, TESOL, AI & Business Transformation.
Launching in 2026: Finance
School of Digital Technologies: Software Engineering, Cybersecurity.
Five of them (Global Management, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, AI and Business Transformation, and MBA) include a dual‑degree 1+1 pathway with ASU, while the TESOL program follows AUT’s curriculum.
Yes. AUT’s admissions policy allows you to earn a second master’s degree as long as you meet the entry requirements
The process is simple:
Fill out the online form. Start by completing a short application form on the AUT website.
Receive a consultation. After submitting your form, your study advisor will contact you to answer questions and guide you through the process.
Provide required documents. For contract‑based master’s admission, you must submit a valid passport or national ID, a relevant undergraduate diploma and transcript in English, proof of English proficiency (minimum IELTS 6.0, TOEFL 66 or CEFR B2) and a professional CV. You also need to pass an entrance mathematics exam with at least a 50% score. A SAT certificate with a score of 500 or higher can exempt you from the entrance mathematics exam.
Applicants without an English certificate may take the AUT EnglishScore test offered via the British Council. Graduates from English‑medium universities may be exempt from providing a certificate, except when applying for scholarships.
For technical programs within the School of Digital Technologies, candidates are expected to hold a bachelor’s degree or demonstrate proven professional experience in a computing‑related field, as the curriculum is designed to build upon prior technical knowledge.
Optional scholarship application. To apply for a 100 % scholarship, submit your passport, undergraduate diploma and transcript with a GPA of at least 4.5/5, an English‑language certificate meeting higher scores (IELTS ≥ 7.0, TOEFL ≥ 92 or CEFR C1), a personal statement, two recommendation letters and a professional CV showing at least one year of relevant work experience. AUT notes that other professional achievements may be considered and scholarships are awarded based on interview results. You must also pass an internal math exam.
Follow further instructions. After your documents are reviewed, you may be invited for an interview. Successful applicants receive an admission offer and can begin their studies.
