AUT Selected as Partner in Prestigious STINT Teaching Sabbatical Programme

The American University of Technology (AUT) is pleased to announce that it has been selected by the Swedish Foundation for International Cooperation in Research and Higher Education (STINT) as a partner institution in STINT’s highly regarded Teaching Sabbatical Programme.

The agreement, signed by AUT and STINT, opens new opportunities for academic collaboration between Sweden and Uzbekistan and further strengthens AUT’s growing international profile.

The STINT Teaching Sabbatical Programme is designed to promote excellence in higher education through international exchange and collaboration. Under the programme, selected faculty members from Swedish universities will have the opportunity to spend a full academic semester at AUT, contributing to teaching, co-teaching, curriculum development, research activities, and the exchange of knowledge and best practices.

As a host institution, AUT will benefit from the presence of experienced Swedish academics who will work closely with faculty, students, and academic units across the university. The programme is expected to support pedagogical innovation, internationalization, faculty development, and the strengthening of academic networks between AUT and leading Swedish universities.

Prof. Dr. Said Irandoust, Founding Rector of AUT, welcomed the partnership:

"We are honoured that STINT has selected AUT as a partner in this prestigious programme. This collaboration reflects AUT’s commitment to academic excellence, international engagement, and the continuous development of teaching and learning. We look forward to welcoming Swedish scholars to our campus and to building long-term partnerships that will benefit our students, faculty, and the wider higher education community in Uzbekistan."

Dr. Andreas Göthenberg, Executive Director of STINT, commented:

"We are pleased to welcome the American University of Technology as a partner in STINT’s Teaching Sabbatical Programme. AUT’s strong commitment to quality education, international engagement, and innovation makes it a promising partner for academic exchange. We look forward to fostering meaningful collaboration between Swedish universities and AUT for the benefit of faculty, students, and both higher education systems."

The agreement is valid for an initial period of five years and provides a framework for future academic exchanges and collaboration between AUT and Swedish higher education institutions.
