Alan has been a senior leader of universities both in the UK and Uzbekistan for the past 30 years, with a focus on the development of new institutions. Starting his career as an academic, where he forged international partnerships. Then into business, becoming a Dean of a Business School and then arriving in Uzbekistan where Alan for the past 23 years, and led the development of 4 new universities in Uzbekistan including the Westminster International University in Tashkent WIUT), the first international university founded in 2002. Alan was awarded an O.B.E. by the Queen in 2011 for services to UK Higher Education in an International Context.
