On December 17, we had the privilege of hosting several distinguished representatives from the United Nations: partnership officer Rusyan Mammitt, Head of the Information Center Anvar Meliboev, UNOPS communication associate Nigina Sodikova, and Communications Analyst Zilola Abdukahharova.
During their visit, these UN representatives engaged with AUT students in an informative session that highlighted the UN's mission and initiatives in Uzbekistan. They shared insights into the UN's efforts to promote sustainable development, focusing on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and their significance in addressing global challenges such as poverty, inequality, and climate change.
The discussion also covered various UN programs and activities aimed at fostering partnerships and collaboration within the country. This opportunity allowed students to deepen their understanding of the UN’s role in Uzbekistan and inspired them to contemplate their own potential contributions to these critical global issues.
