Professional Development Course

In cooperation with the Agency for Strategic Reforms under the President of Uzbekistan, Arizona State University, Cintana Education, and Sunway University (Malaysia), the American University of Technology offers a four-week professional development program titled “Leadership and Innovation for Executive Managers.”

About the course

Learning environment

The course follows international best practices and will be conducted at Sunway University in Malaysia. It is designed to develop leadership, strategic management, institutional innovation, and digital transformation skills among higher education leaders in Uzbekistan.

Sunway Group, one of Malaysia’s largest diversified conglomerates, operates across real estate, hospitality, healthcare, education, and manufacturing, creating an integrated business ecosystem. The Group manages major assets such as Sunway Pyramid, Sunway Resort, Sunway Lagoon, and Sunway Medical Centre, and operates leading institutions including Sunway University and Monash University Malaysia.

During the program, participants will explore how universities operate within a broader industry and innovation ecosystem, gaining practical insights into modern higher education management and strategic development.

The program includes

  • Professional development sessions delivered by highly experienced experts in education;

  • Visits to modern higher education institutions and industrial organizations, along with seminars conducted by local and international specialists;

  • Local transportation for all scheduled international visits;

  • Upon successful completion, participants will receive a state-recognized professional development certificate and a special international certificate confirming overseas training.

The total program fee is 1,850 USD per participant

The fee includes:

Training programs
Hotel accommodation (double occupancy)
Industrial visits and applied seminars conducted by industry specialists
All cultural-educational excursions and transportation services

Round-trip airfare is not included in the price

Day 2 - March 31

  • Seminar: “Artificial Intelligence and Digital Transformation in Higher Education” – AI, data analytics, and digital tools to improve academic and administrative processes

Day 3 - April 1

  • Opening remarks

  • Seminar: “Overcoming Systemic Barriers in Higher Education Management” – aligning academic programs with labor market needs to enhance graduate employability

Day 4 - April 2

  • Opening remarks

  • Seminar: “Leadership and Effective Communication in Higher Education Institutions”

Day 5 - April 3

  • Opening remarks

  • Seminar: “Higher Education Governance” – modern governance models, quality assurance, and strategic review mechanisms

Day 5 - April 17 | Digital Transformation & Policy

  • Seminar: “Qualification Recognition Processes and International Standards”

  • Visits to Cyberjaya Smart City, Multimedia University (MMU), and Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC)

Day 6 - April 18 | ASU–Cintana Alliance Panel

  • Panel Discussion: “The Future of Higher Education in a Digital and Globalized World”

Day 7 - April 19 | Cultural Activities

  • Intercultural communication practice

  • Meeting with representatives of the Malaysian Ministry of Higher Education (subject to confirmation)

Day 8 - April 20

  • Departure from Kuala Lumpur
